The amount of water in the Almaden Reservoir in San Jose tripled after a recent storm.
But water officials said the string of wet weather to dump down on the Bay Area has had minimal impact on the South Bay's water supply.
"It helped a little," said Marty Grimes of the Santa Clara Valley Water District. "But we're such a long way off from our saturation levels and our reservoirs are now only at 33 percent capacity, which is just over half of what we usually are this time of the year."
Lexington reservoir in Los Gatos is up just 0.4 percent compared to last week, officials said.
Water district leaders said the problem is despite recent rains the chances of getting more this season are slim. Conservation will be key, officials said.
