Record Heat on Way to Bay Area

Are you ready for a heat wave?

The calendar says spring, but the Bay Area ha a summerlike feel this weekend, with a bonafide heatwave in the forecast.

An area of high pressure is responsible for the major warming.

Sunny clear skies will allow the region to heat up a bit each day.

 In fact, record heat is expected Monday and Tuesday with a few Inland valleys reaching 90 degrees.

Sunday: A very warm day. Inland: mid 80s, Bayside near 80, & at the Coast: near 70.

Monday: The heat is expected to peak today with Inland valleys near 90, Bayside near 80, and at the Coast: mid 70s.

Ahead: High pressure will begin to break down through the week, allowing for the return of the cool ocean breeze by Thursday. Temps will cool by about 10 - 15 degrees by the end of the work week.
