Redwood City police say a 13-year-old boy with autism who went missing on Thursday returned home and is safe.

Police on Thursday began looking for Anuhar Infante, who had been talking about heading to East Palo Alto to see some fireworks.

Authorities earlier in the day said he was last seen near Roosevelt and Cleveland around 10 a.m. His parents were worried because he has the mental capacity of a 5- to 7-year-old, police said.
