Olympic Bid Could Push for Expanded San Francisco Central Subway: Report

City officials are considering extending San Francisco's Central Subway from Chinatown to Fisherman's Wharf.

The San Francisco Business Times reports that there's no cash for anything at the moment, and such a subway could be "decades" into the future.

The push to extend the $1.59 billion subway system further than its current terminus on Clay Street comes from a city study suggesting a more expanded service could help San Francisco compete with the likes of Los Angeles and Boston for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
