Researchers: Organic Not Better For You

May not be better for the planet either

People pay a pretty penny for organic and sustainable food these days. Whole Foods is growing at an astounding rate, and we all know someone who won't eat non-organic food. One might wonder why after reading a new study, which finds that organic food isn't more nutritious than normal foods.

Researchers at Stanford University put together 237 studies the compared organic and non-organic food. They weren't found to be more nutritious. They did contain a bit less pesticide, but both were within acceptable limits.

But there may be a downside to organic foods: farming them might lead to more pollution.

Researchers at the University of Oxford have found that organic farms pollute less per area of land but more per unit of food.

If nothing else, this might make us non-organic food buyers rest a little easier.
