Richmond Employee Wants to Clean Up Her City

Richmond city employee Stacie Plummer is on a mission to clean up the way the City of Richmond handles its finances.

According to a grand jury report entitled: Assessing Fiscal Risk: Who Is Minding the Store? improper credit card usage and unauthorized purchases among other misconduct are costing the city big bucks.

Plummer, who is the city's library finance manager, made a YouTube video to help explain the situation to the city council and to residents.

As city leaders gear up to talk about the problems Tuesday night, Plummer's video is getting noticed.

City Council woman Jovanka Beckles says she's troubled by the grand jury's findings and grateful to Plummer for sticking her neck out to help.

Earlier this year Plummer helped make public questionable actions of the assistant city manager who was allegedly running a gift basket business out of city hall - a revelation that led to the manager's retirement.

She says she won't stop until things are cleaned up once and for all.
