A man robbed a Lafayette bank this afternoon before fleeing the area on a 10-speed bicycle, a police sergeant said.
The suspect, who was possibly wearing a wig and fake mustache, entered the Pacific National Bank at 3528 Mount Diablo Blvd. at about 4:50 p.m. and took an undisclosed amount of money from the bank after providing a teller with a note, Sgt. Roxane Gruenheid said.
No weapon was seen during the robbery.
The suspect then hopped on a bicycle and fled east on Mount Diablo Boulevard. Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.
He was described as a white man in his 40s or 50s, wearing sunglasses in addition to what appeared to be a fake mustache and wig, Gruenheid said.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Lafayette police at 925-284-5010.
