SF General Adds Security Features After Patient Death

San Francisco General Hospital has work to do in order to prevent another missing patient fiasco.

And now it has a list of what work needs to be done.

The hospital and the San Francisco Sheriff's Department were both criticized for allowing Lynne Spalding, 57, to go missing from her hospital room. She was found dead in a hospital stairwell weeks later.

SF General is on notice that it should install new security cameras and hire a manager in charge of security, SF Weekly reported.

The hospital should also "improve" its communicaton with the Sheriff's Department, which provides security.

The security improvement suggestions came after a six-month review conducted by UCSF Medical Center following Spalding's death.
