SF Muni Will Officially Study “Manspreading”

Saving room on public transit with proper etiquette is subject of study.

New York is cracking down on "manspreading," when males spread their legs to take up more than their allotment on public transit, and San Francisco, not to be outdone, is pledging an official study on the issue.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will "conduct a survey to see how Muni riders feel about manspreading," according to the San Francisco Examiner.

It's not yet clear how high on the list of etiquette faux pas manspreading ranks, especially when compared to leaning on doors, leaving bags in aisles and other misbehavings of the public transit rider.

The survey should reveal that, and also reveal whether San Francisco will follow New York and ask men to, "Dude... Stop the spread, please."

Some men caught in the act of manspreading told the newspaper that Muni should worry about other things.
