Deadly End to Standoff with Suspect Shooting Gun

The apartment building's occupants have been evacuated and Post Street is closed between Leavenworth and Hyde streets.

A deadly end to a San Francisco standoff with a man wanted in connection with a Rohnert Park Murder. The suspect holed up in an apartment building in the city's Lower Nob Hill neighborhood Wednesday around 9pm.

The suspect reportedly fired shots at police from inside the apartment between Post and Hyde Streets. Officers evacuated the building and the surrounding area. The suspect continued to shoot at police through the walls and the floor. He also set several items on fire.

He was shot and killed by police around 10pm.

Family and friends found the Rohnert Park woman dead on Tuesday morning. She was 66 years old. Police don't know when she was killed but say it was a very violent struggle. Her white Toyota Highlander was missing from her driveway.

Police did not provide the relationship between the suspect and the woman Wednesday night. They will hold a press conference Thursday morning.
