SF Waterfront to Host “World's Largest Pop-Up Bar”

A worldwide superlative is coming, thanks to the America's Cup

Bar-goers, your ship is in -- as in, the world's largest ship.

Drinking will be done at Pier 27 this summer in San Francisco for the America's Cup races, where what is dubbed the "world's largest pop-up bar" will be set up, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

"America's Cup Sports Bar" will be 12,000 square feet large and will be able to house up to 500 people, according to the report.

Eric Rubin of Hog & Rocks, Karl Hasz, who built Tres Agaves, and cocktail mixologist Scott Beattie are on the pop-up bar's team as of now.

The pop-up bar will be open until 11 p.m. on race days, and will have indoor and outdoor seating next to the America's Cup concert venue at the city's newly-constructed cruise ship terminal along the Embarcadero.

Three bars in all will open at the location on July 4, according to the report.
