With its high amount of bars, fitness centers and young residents, San Francisco's Financial District rates high on one casual measure of so-called "bro" culture.
FindTheHome measured factors such as bars per capita, strip clubs, fitness centers, and percentage of residents aged 20-34 to help determine a "Bro Index" of neighborhoods in San Francisco. The Financial District comes out on top, North Beach is the runner up, and the Marina — which has been widely nicknamed "Frat Mason" — is third.
The site's definition of the word bro is not gender specific and refers more to an enthusiasm for a debaucherous lifestyle, noted SFGate.
