SJ Police ID 16-Year-Old in City's 16th Homicide

Police identify the 16-year-old who died in a gang shooting as Ruben Zamora

San Jose police have identified the 16-year-old boy who was killed in a likely gang-related shooting Saturday night as Ruben Zamora of San Jose. The teen was the 16th homicide, and the seventh gang-related one, in San Jose this year.

Ruben and a 23-year-old man were standing near the corner of King Road and Virginia Avenue about midnight, when an unknown numbetr of suspects fired rounds at them, police said. The suspects then fled and are still not in custody. Ruben died, and the 23-year-old was taken to the hospital, but police said his injuries weren't severe.
