SJ Woman Dies on Rain Slicked Road

A San Jose woman died Saturday night when the car she was riding in lost control on a rain-slicked road in Campbell.

Bay City News reports the unidentified 34-year-old driver lost control on the S. Winchester Boulevard on-ramp to the San Thomas Expressway around 6 p.m.  Her car crashed down the embankment, flipping in the process.

A passenger, also 34-years-old, died.  The driver suffered minor injuries and another passenger in the 2001 Isuzu Rodeo was not hurt, according to the CHP.

The entire Bay Area was hit with a strong storm system Saturday evening.  Rain flooded many streets and highways as the water came down faster than the drains could remove it.  This crash, in the city limits of Campbell, is the only reported fatality.
