SJ Woman Killed, Man Cuffed in Big Island Mystery

Hawaii police investigating the death of a San Jose, Calif., woman are holding a man in custody on suspicion of murder.

Lt. Gerald Wike said Monday that 52-year-old Karen Marie Celaya died Saturday night at a hotel in Kailua-Kona, on Hawaii's Big Island. He says she fell from the balcony of a second-floor room she shared with the man and landed onto rocks below.

According to Wike, the man, who also lives in San Jose, was arrested after police learned other hotel guests had reported to hotel security that they heard a heated argument coming from the room before the fatal fall.
