A 16-year-old boy who was beaten and shot, allegedly by a gang in an East San Jose neighborhood on Wednesday, has died of his injuries, police said.

Police said Manuel Urzoua died at the hospital Thursday afternoon, after he was attacked just after 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of Virginia Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the teen suffering from at least one gunshot wound, officials said.

The suspects, who have not been identified by police, remain at large.
