San Jose police on Wednesday were looking for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run, which shut down a major expressway for hours.
Police said a man was struck by some sort of vehicle just before 2 a.m. near E. Capitol Expressway and Seven Trees Boulevard. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver took off.
The man was identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 26-year-old Daniel Campbell, a San Jose resident.
There is no vehicle description at this time.
Capitol Expressway was closed during the investigation.
