SJPD Make Arrest in July Homicide

Steve Lyon

Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a fatal  stabbing in downtown San Jose last month.

Adar Yamuro Wright, of San Jose, was taken into custody today in  connection with the July 25 murder of 30-year-old Phillip Briggs, after an  investigation implicated Wright in the killing, police said.

On July 25 at 8:40 p.m., police received reports of a stabbing  near North Second Street and East St John Street and arrived to find Briggs  suffering from a stab wound, police said.

Investigators believe Wright stabbed Briggs during an altercation,  police said.

Briggs, a San Jose resident, was taken to a hospital and later  died.

Wright was booked into jail on murder charges today.
