SJPD Officer Involved in Shooting

Shots fired, but nobody was hit.

The San Jose Police Department is  investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred this morning. At approximately 10:50 a.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Snowberry Court on a report of a disturbance. A family member called 911 to report that a 27-year-old male was being assaultive toward family members.

Upon arrival, officers said they saw the suspect armed with a gun. The suspect displayed threatening behavior with the weapon and one officer fired at least one round at the suspect. The officer did not hit the suspect. The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later by incoming officers who spotted him a couple of blocks away, according to a news release.

Police personnel are on scene and the San Jose Police Homicide Unit will be responding to investigate the shooting. No further information is being released at this time.
