San Francisco Celebrity Chef Sued for Sexual Harassment, Labor and Wage Law Violations

A San Francisco celebrity chef was slapped with a pair of sexual harassment lawsuits Tuesday by former employees who also allege that he violated wage and labor laws.

Michael Chiarello, a fixture in the TV cooking world, has been sued by two women who previously worked at his restaurant, Coqueta, on Pier 5.

The women claim Chiarello fostered a "sexually charged" and "hostile" workplace, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiffs filed a separate class-action suit claiming the chef's companies didn't pay for all the hours they worked and didn't compensate them for overtime hours.
