Giants Offense Comes Alive, Pours It on in Much-Needed Win Over Twins

Dormant no more -- the San Francisco offense erupted Sunday to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Twins.

With the Giants offense struggling as of late, Buster Posey, Hunter Pence and Austin Slater had huge days at the plate to lead San Francisco to a 13-5 win.

Posey had two hits and drove in four runs.

Slater also drove in a quartet of runs. Pence had two RBIs.

The victory saved the Giants from a series sweep.

Matt Cain lasted just 4 1/3 innings, giving up seven hits and five earned runs.

But Posey's big double in the seventh inning gave San Francisco the lead and the Giants poured it on during inning eight.
