San Francisco Homeowner Builds Illegal Driveway

A San Francisco resident is engaged in a rogue street-level battle to build a driveway.

SocketSite noted the real estate skirmish happening in a two-bedroom family home in the city's Sunnyside neighborhood. A property purchased for $705,000 last January came without a driveway and so the new owner appears to be building one.

The problem is there haven't been any permits filed to do the work on the sloping property and the owner may have contracted the work after being told that it could be a hard case to approve.

The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection issued a Notice of Violation and placed "no parking" tape across the construction site, but the publication noted that the tape was removed once the inspector left the area.
