A man was shot in the leg during a robbery in San Francisco's Mid-Market neighborhood on Saturday evening but did not go to a hospital until the next day, police said today.
The shooting apparently occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Market Street.
The 41-year-old victim was approached from behind by two men who pushed him to the ground, punched him several times, then shot him in the leg, according to police.
The suspects then took the victim's property, including his cellphone, wallet and shoes, and fled. Described as men in their 20s or 30s, they had not been found as of this morning, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The victim did not immediately go to a hospital but showed up a day later at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, which were not life-threatening, Shyy said.
Shyy said he does not know why the victim didn't go to the hospital right away.
