A man was arrested in San Francisco's Mission District last week after allegedly robbing a man playing the popular "Pokemon Go" video game of his phone, according to police.
Officers from the Mission Station were working in the area of 17th and Hoff streets on Aug. 4 when someone approached them saying he had just been robbed.
The person was able to point out his attacker and told officers he had been walking on Mission Street playing Pokemon Go when the suspect approached him and snatched his cellphone from his hands, according to police.
The victim told police he chased the suspect and demanded his phone back, threatening to hit the suspect with a bottle. The suspect allegedly reached into the front of his pants and threatened to shoot him, police said.
Officers detained 23-year-old Damarea Williams-Evans and found that he had the victim's phone but was not armed.
Williams-Evans was arrested on suspicion of felony strong-arm robbery, terrorist threats, narcotics-related offenses and numerous active warrants from South San Francisco, Santa Clara and Marin County, police said.
