Teen Shot by San Francisco Police

San Francisco police are investigating two shootings this morning, one involving a police officer. Investigators say two people were shot on Mission Street near Italy Avenue around 11:20  last night. About 30 minutes later, a police officer shot a 19-year-old man at a gas station near the intersection of Mission Street and Geneva Avenue.

Police are interviewing witnesses to see if the two shootings are related.

Officers blame a nearby hip hop party. Police say organizers began turning people away when the party became overcrowded. Around that same time, the first gunshots were heard. Officers say because there were so many people in the area, they have plenty of witnesses.

The three people shot were taken to a hospital and are expected to live. The officer involved in the incident is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, as is routine.
