Dirty Harry was not a real San Francisco police officer either.

A San Francisco man awoke to a pair of "cops" trying to rob his South of Market home Thursday.

A 39-year-old resident of 500 block of Fourth Street told the real police that two men who claimed to be police officers were rummaging through his house early in the morning, according to The San Francisco Examiner.

The problem was the men had nothing to prove they were officers plus they were going through his house looking for things.

The men ran away before they could be arrested, only making away with a pair of house keys. Officers said the men entered through an unlocked front door.
