San Francisco Prepares for 4th of July Fireworks Show

Fireworks company Pyro Spectaculars by Souza is getting ready at Pier 50 in San Francisco for Saturday night's show. Four barges with the launch tubes will be positioned off Pier 39 and Aquatic Park.

Show producer Jeff Thomas told NBC Bay Area that he has come up with a fresh sequence with new music this year. He said there will be about 10,000 fireworks blasting off over a 25-minute span in San Francisco.

Thomas is dedicating this year's show to his mentor Al Souza, who passed away earlier this year.

Fireworks start at 9:30pm Saturday night in San Francisco, and can be viewed from anywhere along the waterfront.
