A San Francisco woman is organizing an “Inauguration Day P---y March” on the day President Barack Obama steps down and President-elect Donald Trump takes over, though some people are urging her to change the name of the event.
Carmela Thompson posted the open invitation on Nov. 11 for Jan. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting at the Embarcadero Station in San Francisco.
She wrote that she plans to take a walk up Market Street to commemorate his service in office for the last eight years. “As a silent protest, I'll be wearing a p---y protector. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. … All genders welcome.”
The oddly named contraption is a pant attachment to “protect women from p---y grabbing politicians.”
The phrase was born after The Washington Post broke a story about Trump bragging in 2005 that he could grab women by their genitals because he was a celebrity.
However, several people in the event's Facebook feed told Thompson they don't like the name of the event.
"I truly despise the name and will not and cannot publicize it," Peggy Scott of San Pablo wrote. "It's like the guy in San Francisco who put up the flag with a swastika. He said he was doing it in protest, but his protest backfired."

Wendy Beadle-Silberbauer also chimed in. "If this is to commemorate Obama's service, why call it a P---y March? Isn't there a great name for thanking Obama?"
