San Jose: Man Dies from Injuries Suffered in Weekend Attack, Becomes City's 20th Homicide Victim of 2014

A man who was stabbed and shot late Sunday in West San Jose died Thursday morning, a police spokeswoman said, marking the city's 20th homicide so far this year.

The victim suffered stab and gunshot wounds Sunday in the 3200 block of Loma Verde Drive just west of Winchester Boulevard, according to Sgt. Heather Randol.

Police have a suspect in custody for the homicide, Randol said.

The motive for the slaying and the identities of the victim and suspect were not immediately available.

The death is San Jose's 20th homicide of 2014, Randol said.
