SJ Couple Arrested in Connection to Man Beaten to Death

Simon Morales and his wife, Andrea, have been arrested in connection to the beating death of a San Jose man.

San Jose police have arrested a couple in connection with the beating death of a 59-year-old man.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Simon Morales and his wife, 46-year-old Andrea Morales, both of San Jose, in connection to homicide.

Francisco Lugo was beaten on June 1 in the 600 block of N. 12 Street when he attempted to help a disabled young man, who was being chased by three other men. The men then turned on Lugo and knocked him unconscious.

Lugo, who was pulled off life support a few days after the beating, is San Jose's 22nd homicide of the year.
