San Jose Gang, Drug Raid Nets 20 Arrests

At least 20 people were arrested Thursday morning during a gang and drug raid in San Jose.

The raid took place at a tattoo parlor on 10th and William streets, just a few blocks from San Jose State University. Police said it was part of an investigation agents have been working on for two years.

A team of agents, including a K-9 unit, were acting on arrest and search warrants. Once inside they found several guns, including an assault style weapon and bags of possible methamphetamine.

No one was found inside the tattoo parlor, but agents arrested at least 20 people throughout the city as part of the sweep.

"They're bad people. Absolutely they are affiliated with gangs and drugs," said Peter Lee, an FBI spokesman. "They are not the kind of people you want to have in your backyard."

Officials said because the investigation is ongoing no further details are being released regarding how many weapons or suspected drugs were seized during the raid.
