Police named a 31-year old man San Jose as the victim of a fatal shooting inside an unlicensed East Oakland massage parlor which may have been operating as a brothel, according to reports.
Jian Jin was in an apartment in the 2000 block of 16th Street when robbers forced their way in and shot him, the Oakland Tribune reported.
It is not known why the man was there at that time or why he would have been targeted by assailants, the newspaper reported.
Multiple suspects, "including one with a gun," forced their way into the apartment and shot Jin after robbing the doorman, the newspaper reported.
Cops said that there was material present to suggest prostitution as well as massages, the newspaper reported. The homicide is the city's 10th.
