San Jose is revving up festivities plans for Super Bowl 50, set to be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
The NFL's biggest game is 90 days away and downtown merchants, restaurants and city officials are excited for the opportunity to host the large number of visitors.
"The Super Bowl is coming. We can't wait," said Rick Flemming, general managers for Deluxe Eatery. "Going to have some nice happy hours for the Super Bowl."
Kim Walesh, San Jose's deputy city manager in charge of economic development, has called a meeting for next week with downtown merchants to highlight the expectations during Super Bowl week.
"We want them to understand the large number of visitors who are going to be here so they can plan and have enough food and beverage and hospitality and serve everyone," Walesh said.
The city council will also soon consider a temporary ordinance to ban street vendors and counterfeit merchandise sales from the downtown area.
Meanwhile, the team that will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl will be staying in downtown San Jose and will use San Jose State University's weight room. The team will also have the options to practice on several football fields.

"We have two practice fields here," said Lawrence Fan, SJSU Athletics spokesman. "The offense can be on one field and defense on another. And if we have rain, the NFC can go into Spartan Stadium and get its work done."
Media day for the big game will be held at the SAP Center.
