Police Arrest Third Suspect in San Jose Murder Case

San Jose police announced Sunday that they have arrested a third suspect in connection with an Aug. 2 homicide.

Investigators have determined that Lawrence Santrius, 34, was walking in the 5000 block of Monterey Road around 1:40 a.m. when three men confronted him.

One of the men shot and killed Santrius, then all three fled the scene, police officials said.

Two of the suspects in that Aug. 2 deadly shooting were arrested in August. Police report that San Jose resident Cesar Cacho, 23, was arrested on Aug. 6, and Jesus Rivera, 21, also of San Jose, was arrested Aug. 12.

A third suspect, Ivan Montalbo, 21, of San Jose, was arrested on Friday.

All three have been booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office has filed murder charges against Cacho and Rivera.

According to police, charges against Rivera will be filed next week.
