Police are investigating a fatal accident in San Jose Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to a collision in the area of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Miyuki Drive shortly before 2 a.m., Sgt. Heather Randol said.
Arriving officers found a vehicle that had collided with a tree, she said.
A man who drove the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Randol said.
Police have not determined if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, she said.
A newspaper delivery van crashed into a San Jose police car responding to the scene. Both the officer and the driver of the van were transported to a hospital.
