San Jose police early Thursday morning took a son into custody after officers say he stabbed his father, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The father was killed about 9 p.m. Wednesday after someone called to report he was stabbed in a mobile park the 700 block of Mill Stream Drive.

Their identities were not immediately related.

This is San Jose's 14th homicide of 2016. The 13th was reported on Monday, when Carlos Soto Ojeda was shot to death as his family said he was trying to sell a pit bull puppy on Sand Point Road.

Last year at this time, there were eight homicides.
