San Jose Police Look For Smelly Sex Assault Suspect

The woman was assaulted as she walked on Bascom near Parkmoor Avenue.

Police are seeking a man, possibly a transient, after a woman reported being sexually assaulted as she walked on South Bascom Avenue about 7 p.m. last Sunday.

The man is described as 35 to 45 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 inches tall, with a dark complexion and broad shoulders. He had a stubbly mustache, short black hair cut in a flat-top style with a little bit of a "salt and pepper" appearance.

At the time of the assault, he was dressed in a blue shirt with a pattern resembling white spattered paint on the front, black shorts and white shoes. According to a police news release, "the male may be transient due to his unkempt appearance and body odor."

The woman was assaulted as she walked on Bascom near Parkmoor Avenue. No additional details were released.
