San Jose Police Make Arrest in Friday Killing

Woman found dead along SJ street.

Police have arrested a 25-year-old San Jose man in connection with  the fatal shooting of a woman in the city Friday night.

     Gannon Crediford was taken into custody overnight as a suspect in  the shooting death of a 28-year-old woman in the 1000 block of Morris Court,  San Jose police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.      Police had received a report of a woman screaming for help and  then a "pop" sound at around 9:05 p.m.
     Arriving police found the victim suffering gunshot wounds and she  was pronounced dead at the scene.
     Police still did not release her identity as her relatives  were still being notified.
     Further details regarding the circumstances of Crediford's arrest  were not immediately available.
