San Jose Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

The shooting marks the city's 24th homicide this year.

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man early this morning in San Jose. This is San Jose's 24th homicide of 2012, according to police. At approximately 3:07 a.m., San Jose police responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot in the 3400 block of Clover Oak Drive near Groesbeck Park. Upon arrival, officers located a man with at least one gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead on the scene at approximately 3:25 a.m., police said. Police have not identified or apprehended any suspects and the motive for the murder remains under investigation The San Jose Police Department's homicide unit is arriving on scene to take over the investigation. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin, police said.
