San Jose Ranks No. 8 in Nation's Thinnest Cities: Gallup

San Jose is one of the thinnest cities in the United States, according to Gallup.

San Jose ranks among the nation’s thinnest cities, according to new research from Gallup.

The city ranked No. 8 on the list of least obese cities, with 19.5 percent of adults considered obese.

San Diego was No. 6 on the list, and Boulder, Colo. ranked No. 1, having a 12.4 percent obesity rate.

The most-obese city was Huntington, W.Va., with a 39.5 percent obesity rate.

Researchers said the least obese cities have concentrations of wealthy Americans, while the most obese cities have concentrations of poor Americans.
