A man jumped out of his car during a traffic stop in San Jose and fled with what looked like a gun, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said they then chased him. A neighbor called police and said the suspect was in her yard armed with a handgun.
When police arrived at the home, the man fled into a nearby auto shop.
Authorities surrounded the building with more than 20 officers.
After about a two hour stand off, police took the suspect into custody without incident.
Police have not released his identity.
