San Jose Unveils Plan to Ward Off Gangs

San Jose officials and police this summer are looking to keep kids safe and away from gangs, who tend to recruit more young members when classes are out of session.

Activities and events designed to keep kids active so that they don't fall prey to gangs are planned throughout the summer. In addition, police plan to patrol gang hot spots in the downtown and east parts of town.
