Chico police are investigating the death of a 21-year-old California State University, Chico student from San Jose on Monday morning.
Gina Marie Maggio was found unconscious at about 10:35 a.m. Monday at a home in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street in Chico.
When police got there, Maggio wasn't breathing and they pronounced her dead.
Investigating officers determined that Maggio had spent the night at the home after visiting a friend.
Police have not detected signs of foul play and are awaiting a toxicology report to determine the cause of Maggio's death.
