Santa Clara County Sheriff: Burglar On Loose After Shooting

Sgt. Jose Cardoza said the victim was taken to the hospital and expected to survive the gunshot wound.

A man in his 50s was awakened early Friday by a burglar who was rummaging through his belongings and then shot him in the arm before taking off, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Jose Cardoza said the man was taken to the hospital and expected to survive the gunshot wound. He was shot just before 3 a.m. in the 3800 block of Higuera Road, in the unincorporated part of the eastern San Jose foot hills.

The suspect is still at large.
