Santa Clara police arrested an alleged burglar on Thursday morning after a homeowner was stabbed in his home, while several other family members were inside.
Police said they went to the 3100 block of Cabrillo Avenue about 3 a.m. and found the victim suffering from stab wounds.
Police found the 24-year-old suspect had entered a window, which woke up the sister in the home. That was when her brother, who is in his 50s, got into a fight with the suspect, who stabbed him several times, police said.
The suspect ran, but was later arrested by police when they found him hiding around the corner.
Police said the homeowner is in stable condition.
