Santa Clara Valley Pushes Residents to Conserve Water

With the peak water season approaching, the Santa Clara Valley Water District has resumed its conservation campaign.

The "Save 20 Gallons" campaign, developed in partnership with retailers and cities, includes advertisements in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese.

"Although our local water supplies improved this year because of a wet rainy season and the community's conservation efforts, uncertainty continues to plague our imported water deliveries from the Sierra Nevada, which meet half of Santa Clara County's water demand," Richard Santos, chairman of the water district board of directors, said in a prepared statement.

The advertisements can be viewed at save20gallons.org.
