Search Continues For Boy Who Fell From Inner Tube in Lake Sonoma

A 14-year-old boy is missing in Sonoma County after he fell from an inner tube on Lake Sonoma on Saturday afternoon, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded at about 3:50 p.m. to a report that the boy fell from the inner tube as it was being pulled by a personal watercraft, sheriff's officials said.

The boy was one of two boys on inner tubes who were being pulled through an area of deep water when they fell, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, which was helping with the search. One was able to swim to safety.

Sheriff's officials said witnesses told them that neither boy was wearing a life jacket.

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and Lakeville firefighters have been assisting in the search, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies are not releasing the name of the missing boy at this time.
