A mass murder case out of the East Bay that already had a series of twists and turns found a new kink Thursday afternoon when Hercules police issued said they found a body inside the home of one of five homicide victims.
Hercules police said detectives and members of the FBI crime lab found a dead body inside the home of Ricardo and Frederick Sales on Crepe Myrtle Drive.
Ricardo Sales' body was found at the home back on Saturday, Aug. 28. His son has not been seen since and has been the subject of an extensive search of a nearby landfill for the past several days. But authorities would not say why the body was not found sooner since the house has been a crime scene since Ricardo Sales' body was found there.
Authorities said they have not yet determined the identity or cause of death for the dead person found inside the Crepe Myrtle home Thursday, but it looks like it could be Frederick. They would not comment on what condition the body was in or whether it was that of a male or a female.
The suspect in the Sales' disappearance and killing, Efren Valdemoro was killed by police following a high-speed chase.
The body of Valdemoro's girlfriend Cindy Tran was found in Valdemoro’s car. Valdemoro is also a person of interest in the deaths of two women who's decomposing bodies were found in a Vallejo home a week ago.
