Second Victim in Shooting Near San Jose State Dies

The second victim in a double shooting near San Jose State on Tuesday has died, bringing the city's homicide rate to 25 this year, police said Thursday.

The shooting occurred in the area of South 11th and East San Antonio streets. Officers responding to the scene found two men suffering from at least one gunshot wound each, police said.

The victims were transported to a local hospital, where one of the victims was pronounced deceased a short time later. The second victim was pronounced dead Thursday, police said.

The victims' names are being withheld until family is notified, police said.

No suspects have been identified or located, but police said they are searching for a gunman who raced away from the scene in a car.

Last year, there were 10 homicides at the same time.
