Series of Sideshows Keep Police Busy in Oakland

A series of wild sideshows kept law enforcement scrambling this weekend in Oakland.

The action happened on 23rd and High streets about 1 a.m. Saturday. The California Highway Patrol responded, but the cars were all on Oakland Streets, so they notified Oakland PD.

Police said by the time officers arrived, everyone was gone. But that wasn't the end of it.

About a half hour later, the CHP got word of 100 cars taking part in a sideshow on southbound 880 at the Coliseum. By the time officers arrived there, everyone took off.

No arrests were reported, but the CHP asked citizens to call them when they see this kind of activity going on.
